I secured a grant through Emory University's Scholary Research and Inquiry at Emory (SIRE) program to fund a summer project researching urban civilian posttraumatic stress disorder. Working with the Grady Trauma Project, I interacted with hundreds of hospital patients in a clinical research setting and shadowed patient-researcher interviews. At the end of the summer, I delivered a presentation of my original research, Risk & Resilience for PTSD, at Emory’s SIRE Symposium and won “Best presentation in the social sciences” for the presentation.
