During my extensive time at Workday I have been involved in many major high visibility projects, and acted as team technical lead. Aside from project specific accomplishments, my general responsibilities include facilitating cross team communication with teams outside our org to better inform our strategies to strengthen our platform and common tooling, creating interview material and conducting interviews, profiling performance issues on the Workday web app, planning technical roadmaps and work breakdowns for all major feature work, conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback on my peers' PRs, and giving technical talks / creating informative videos shared through either conferences or internal video repositories.

During my time at Workday I took on a management role leading a team building an experimental new feature into the main product. We were building an early version of a chat interface to Workday functionality. During this time my responsibilities included team building, unblocking individuals on the team and promoting individual growth, coordination / communication between several different groups relating to the project, and presenting to executive leadership. When it was time to move on from this project I decided to return to an individual contributor role as a software developer.

In my current position with WCI I am focused on improving mobile operations and facility planning capabilities. My projects include:WCI Shot Scheduler - Developed a calendar which allows facilities at the lab to schedule experiments. Experiments can be linked with existing staff, equipment, and inventory databases, providing a method of resource availability tracking that did not previously exist. Created a build process that creates a separate deploy-able archive for the external WCI website, where a subset of schedule data can be published.WCI Mobile Operations - Developed software for mobile platforms that helped field personnel view and manage inventory. Software was written in AngularJS and packaged into a native app using Cordova. These applications were built to work with unreliable wifi signals, and used store and forward techniques to upload inventory transactions to a secured server running Jersey web services. While working at the NIF, I implemented a number of unique projects. These included:NEO - NIF Electronic Checklists: A native iOS / web application used to create electronic versions of paper based procedures. Its primary features were store and forward for data synchronization, a data-driven design to allow for maximum flexibility in procedure authoring, and integration with existing work-order and document management systems. A single data set would contain hundreds to thousands of data points. Other tools in this suite would combine hundreds of data sets and tens of thousands of data points into high level displays with drill down capability.Target Inspection Visualization - While working full time at the lab, I finished my Master’s Thesis project at UC Davis where I developed software to view microscopy data of a NIF target (a small BB sized capsule). The tool used WebGL to arrange images of the target in 3D space, allowing customers to navigate the dataset in a manner similar to Google Earth.Shot Planning Toolset - A rich schedule editing web application which allowed NIF shot directors to create various experiment schedules.
