Dan is a Board certified security and emergency management professional, with more than 30 years of experience as a practitioner, consultant, instructor, trainer, keynote speaker, author and volunteer leader. Dan serves as Chief Executive Officer for COSECURE, a national security and risk management consulting firm dedicated to building safer workplaces, communities and schools by developing risk identification and mitigation strategies. As CEO, Dan is responsible for setting the overall strategic consulting and business development strategies including lateral acquisition and identification of emerging markets.  Dan manages a team  of security professionals, former federal, state and local law enforcement, military and emergency management officials with unparalleled skills in physical security, cybersecurity and compliance, emergency preparedness & business continuity. The COSECURE team tailors services to serve the largest of Fortune 100 companies, Hospitals, Universities, K-12 schools, and government entities as well as small businesses and home offices. Prior to leading COSECURE, for more than a decade, Dan served as a partner and later Executive Vice President of Margolis Healy where he was responsible for developing consulting strategies, business development initiatives, and led the security and emergency management practice areas. In this role, he worked worked with hundreds of higher education, K-12, corporate and government entities to conduct risk and security program assessments, develop emergency plans, and provide workplace violence and active threat training. Prior to joining MHA, Dan held positions as Sr. Director of Emergency Preparedness, Communications and Security with the University of Chicago Department of Safety & Security and as Director of Emergency Management at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. Dan was the 2006-2007 President of the New Jersey College & University Public Safety Association and served as Chapter Chairman for the Central Jersey Chapter of ASIS International from 2005-2009 and Chairman of the International Educational Institutions Security Council. He was also selected by Security Director News as a member of their "top 20 under 40", recognizing the industry’s leading security professionals under 40 years of age
