For more than fifteen years I have been involved in special education, creating and implementing social and academic programming for students with disabilities. For the past six years, I have primarily worked as a special education teacher in a self-contained classroom where I have delivered instruction and provided case management services. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Sociology at Gwynedd-Mercy College and my Master of Arts in Leadership in Teaching from Notre Dame of Maryland University.I have solid experience as an educator with planning and implementing high-quality instruction for students of all ability levels to attain critical academic, behavioral, social, and life skills goals. I apply strong communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams in order to meet the academic and behavioral needs of students with disabilities. I am compassionate and patient in all my work with students and clients with disabilities.In addition to the above experiences as an educator, I have worked privately with clients with disabilities as a 1-to-1 support coach teaching academic and life skills, as well as providing on-the-job coaching and employment support. I also currently coach allied sports within the county school system where I am employed. I am firmly committed to the service of communities and young people wherever I go, and I love to rise to meet the challenges my work brings me each day.
