About Daniel Rees

I am currently Adviser (Chief of Staff) to the General Manager of the Bank for International Settlements. In this role, I support the General Manager and broader executive team to run the Bank’s day-to-day operations and pursue its broader strategic objectives. Prior to taking up this role, I managed economic policy and research teams at the BIS and Reserve Bank of Australia. While at the RBA, I oversaw the development of the RBA’s core macroeconometric model, MARTIN. I have also published widely in academic journals and policy publications. I completed my Ph.D. at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2013.
