Selected for the research apprenticeship 'Marine Biodiversity Through the Lens of Single-Cell Genomics' under the direction of Professor Leonid Moroz. Investigated the evolution of early neural systems through biodiversity; using techniques in microscopy, bioinformatics, genomics, and more.My specific research project focused on investigating the comparative role of common metazoan transmitters in ctenophores. It's theorized that Ctenophora is the first branching phylum of Animalia, and therefore may have evolved its neural system differently from the rest of Metazoan. By testing common transmitters(GABA, Glutamate, Glycine) on different ctenophore species' behavior, the role's of these transmitters in ctenophore biology may be elucidated. The majority of my project involved filming ctenophores in a controlled setting to establish a behavioral baseline and to conduct and record pharmacological assays.

I was responsible for managing potential COVID-19 exposures to the fraternity and UW Greek community. This involves staying up to date with and enforcing the latest public health info and guidelines in the house. At the time I held this position, no one living in the house contracted COVID-19.
