Worked as part of the successful tender team to secure an interesting multi-disciplined works package for a new client.Currently working as part of a small team initiating the project in the mobilisation phase - currently looking at the detailed planning, cost forecasting, procurement strategy, recruitment requirements and the suite of management plans required to allow the first shovel to hit the ground.More to follow...

My time contracting to Balfour Beatty Rail has offered me two diverse roles working for seperate parts of the company, one of which being a 'delivery role' on the Cardiff Area Signalling Renewal scheme and the other as part of a tender team offering my skills for methodology planning and pricing on P-way schemes.P-way Project Delivery Engineer - Cardiff Area Signalling Renewal:Duties include:• Devising safe methodology, producing construction programes, staging diagrams, calculating train requirements, ordering strategic plant (KIROW cranes, Mobile road cranes, Pems and Lems.• Producing work package plans.• Ordering materials/ components.• Organising staff and manpower to undertake prep/core/ follow up works.• Liasing with the client for planning/ delivery/ TOC/ H&S folder submissions.• Mentoring technical staff.• Survey / setting out works.• 3D / GPS modeling.• 3D / GPS track installation.• S&C Tamping.• Stressing level 1,2 & 3.Tender Methodology Planner - Work Winning (Derby Work Winning Office).Duties include:• Scoping tender package documents and design drawings.• Liaising with clients to establish project requirements.• Working with subcontractors to establish preferred rates.• Devise safe and commercially viable methodology - detailing on staging diagrams and capturing detail on programs.• Working closely with QS/ estimators to establish the pricing document.• Presenting the plan and pricing document to director level.• Raising technical queries to the client, attending clarification meetings and attending behavioral safety workshops.

Responsible for leading the engineering construction of 5 miles of track re-doubling on the Gowerton re-doubling scheme.

Worked as part of a large team delivering various high profile p-way schemes on the £900m Reading re-modeling project (RSAR)Lead the p-way engineering construction of the new FGW train care depot as part of the wider Reading re-modeling project.

1. Technical Planning: Produce, oversee and check technical information against drawings and clients specifications. Produce ‘design tech sheets’, ALC – geometry files, stressing plans, create trimble 3D machine control files, works programmes, method statements, risk assessments etc. 2. Logistical Planning: Devising and agreeing a safe and commercially viable site specific renewal methodology that has minimal risk to the operational railway. 3. Construction delivery (weekend renewal closures): Working on site most weekends as the lead engineer, ensuring that new track is installed to the correct design, client’s specification and standards. Introduced and utilised innovative Trimble 3D dozing machine control.4. Handover works : Correlating excavation/ ballast, tamping as-built data, weld and stress certificates, reviewing track quality traces in ALC / DAR then booking necessary follow up tamps, compiling/ reviewing the health and safety handover file then meeting with the client to agree handover dates and financial close on individual sites.
