Obtaining and analysing prescribing data for cost effective prescribing, budgetary impacts and surveillanceWithin Medicines Management i was responsible for the management of project documentation for all projects within the team’s work plan, monitor,analyse and interpret data for projects as needed. I was required to facilitate the day to day running of the MMT which was achieved through maintaining an overview of all medicines management projects and monitoring progress against key deliverables and reporting on variance against planned timescales so that priorities could assessed and re-evaluated. I further supported the MMT, through the preperation of reports, maintaining evidence, and databases, following up on confidential queries and replies from GPs and practice staff. With regards to my analytical work, I was required to support the Head of Medicines Management (HOMM) by analysing and monitoring prescribing data to ensure regular reporting on prescribing budgets and QIPP work programmes in a timely manner. This was achieved through the use of systems such as ePACT, ScriptSwitch and the collation of data through various data collection methods. This required myself to proactively develop innovative approaches for presentation and dissemination of prescribing information. Within this role it is essential to communicate with a wide range of personnel across the healthcare community e.g.; GPs, members of the public and the pharmaceutical industry. This involved receiving complex and sometimes sensitive information, requiring appropriate communication skills
