In my role as Strength & Conditioning Coach at Manchester Metropolitan University, I am deeply committed to advancing the physical development and performance excellence of athletes across a wide array of sports. Serving as the main coach for the MMU Eagles (American Football), my responsibilities extend far beyond a single team. I play a pivotal role in enhancing the athletic prowess of Manchester Thunder (Netball), Manchester Magic and Mystics (Basketball), Sale Sharks (Rugby), MMU Football (Soccer), and support the ambitions of individual scholars in disciplines such as basketball, BMX, water polo, swimming, badminton, and weightlifting. A crucial component of my work involves conducting extensive physical testing of athletes, employing both field-based and gym-based assessments. Utilizing advanced technology such as time gates (Brower and Witty timing systems), force plates (including Hawkin Dynamics systems), and laser jump testing (Optojump), among other sophisticated tools. My role as one of the S&C coaches focuses on the strategic planning and execution of sport-specific strength, conditioning, and injury prevention programs. carefully customized to align with the distinct physical requirements and performance objectives of each sport and athlete, guaranteeing superior results in terms of competitive ability and athlete well-being.
