The duties for this role included th operation of the fibre preparation winding machine and building the creels to the specification of the customer. We had to work as a team to ensure the correct positioning of the carbon fiber spools and needed to build the creel for optimal and professional operation of the machine that produced our final product. After a period of working at Sigmatex, I began to undertake the training and supervision of new colleagues adhering to health and safety regulations.

This was a demanding and responsible role that included planning, supervision and evaluation of all activities and aspects involved in the pool. Responsibility for the supervision and delivery of staff, ensuring all activities and their responsibilities within their duties are performed to a high standard ensuring rules and regulations are adhered to. In this role, use of my own initiative and teamwork was essential to complete this job to the best of my ability. Some of the jobs included in this role were organising staff rotas, completing pool tests and risk assessments, it also included the reporting of any repairs to the necessary people. The Waterfront Director role required group participation and leadership which is paramount to working with people with Special Needs.

During my time at my local swimming club, I obtained a personal goal of becoming a fully qualified Swimming Teacher and Lifeguard, building on my interpersonal skills, customer relations, communication skills, planning and evaluation as well as various teaching techniques.
