Assistant professor in the Psychology and Child Development department at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. With a PhD in Social Psychology from University of California, Santa Cruz, I am interested in community-engaged research on the psychological processes of transformative change, or change that aims to address the core of social issues. I have collaborated with colleagues and organizations that advance reproductive rights and immigrant justice. I am researching how organizers and care workers embody the transformative changes they seek to create in society. My studies offer the basis to firmly believe that, to thrive, we must rely on one another and co-create the tools necessary to enact meaningful social change in our life conditions. Through my research and teaching, I aim to highlight practices people use to empower themselves to embrace their expertise and enact change within their communities.
