I am currently part of the Quality Control team within the PEP & High Risk Hub in Barclays, primarily focusing on Business Banking but trained across various anti-money laundering work streams. I have worked at Barclays Bank for over 6 years, first joining towards the end of 2017 on a temporary contract within Global Payments, having previously gained payments experience within Clydesdale & Yorkshire Bank. I then secured a position within Middle Office where I became the Subject Matter Expert (SME) within consequence management and became a permanent member of staff in January 2019. Since then, I was fortunate to secure a promotion to a senior position in the Transfers Payments team within Barclays’s Investment Operations department. This involved being the SME of the Payments process, checking and releasing payments created by the team, carrying out various MI reports, training staff, updating process procedures, UAT testing of systems and becoming the lead on a large-scale process migration to India. I also frequently acted as stand-in Team Leader undertaking some tasks such as: organising team meetings, promoting recognition, joining stakeholder meetings and allocating work depending on capacity. Subsequently, I decided to venture into helping prevent financial crime by joining the PEP & High Risk hub within TC01 in Barclays, where I operate at present and have done since January 2023.
