• Scrubbed data before launched on site -- Often worked on tables with a million or more records. Largest was condensing 250 million records to 50 million. I had to be methodical in query creation and index creation to work with the databases efficiently. -- By using patterns in the data I used self joins to copy chronological data to applicable records. -- Created custom queries or reusable ones. For example, I have written custom queries to parse prose-like data, or writing functions to correct corrupted Unicode characters in files delivered from archives.• Loaded data onto server -- Most commonly loaded txt, dat, and excel files -- Used t-sql bulk insert, SSIS, and Import wizard• Ensured tables were structured correctly -- It was expected that a collection of data had three core tables in parent child relationship in a linear progression, with several support tables linking to the core tables. -- We received data in formats from flat files to star schema tables.
