I worked at Arqiva in the transmission department.My main duties involved:Monitoring and maintaining up to 19 television channels.Appending and checking new schedules.Preparing new media, such as WAV files, subtitles, VO files.Logging live media for re-airs.Creating new XMLs.Providing clients with compliance recordings.QCing commercials, fillers and interstitials.Dealing with clients via email and phone.Training staff.Creating new working practices.Maintaining Provys materials database and FTP sites.Working closely with the ingest department.Chasing up missing material.I have a good knowledge of Provys, Omnibus (G2 and G3), Pixel Promo, Filezilla, LinguaUtils, Mediaflex, Image Store, Xplorer, Xstudio and Vertigo. I have had positive feedback from both my collegues and clients.

Transmission can be very high pressure and you must be able to react quickly and think on your feet. I feel that I have performed well here as my attention to detail is very good.In the latter months I learnt a vital side of live transmission in live ingest. I am able to clip up and log media for re-airs, which can sometimes mean a very quick turnaround.I have clipped up media for the NBA, NHL, NFL, UFC, T20 and American College events; which met my Operations Manager’s approval.I have a good knowledge of Provys, Omnibus (G2 and G3), Pixel Promo, Filezilla, LinguaUtils, Mediaflex and Image Store. I have had positive feedback from both my collegues and clients.

My main duties in this department involved:Auditing and traffic control.Out of hours requests.Dealing with clients via email and phone.Training staff.Creating new working practices.Maintaining Provys materials database.Working closely with the ingest department.Chasing up missing material.Booking couriers.Spotting client discrepencies.I helped a lot to keep tape storage down to individual client’s allocated amount, as well as the general upkeep of the area. I have proved that I am able to work of my own volition; for example creating a map of the library, so in the case of late arriving schedules and content, night staff are able to find a missing item and ingest it in time for transmission.I built strong relationships with clients and pride myself on going the extra mile to deal with any requests even if out of hours. I thrived in the at times high pressured, fast-turnaround environment of pre-transmission.
