As an Area Technical and Operations Manager (ATOM) it is my responsibility to contribute to the management of the business by: •Providing highly effective proactive leadership and performance management of a team of Engineer Surveyors •Motivating and driving the Engineer Surveyor team in order to achieve business KPI and service levels with regard to inspection service delivery. •Ensuring that the team delivers optimum operational performance. •Providing a full contribution to the management of the region – working with the regional ATOM team to ensure Regional success. •Ensuring the team meets its requirements in accordance with both statutory and regulatory obligations. •Managing and auditing Engineer Surveyor performance and technical competence in accordance with prescribed guidelines. •Adopting effective Client Relationship Management techniques to identify customer technical inspection requirements and opportunities to provide other technical services. Undertaking examinations under LOLER and PUWER regulations for clients across Essex, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.In this role I was responsible for carrying out the statutory examination of lifting and carnage plant. This included equipment such as passenger goods lifts, escalators, fork lift trucks, MEWPs, tele-handlers, lorry loading cranes, vehicle lifts, window cleaning and building maintenance units, lifting tackle and lifting machines. The purpose of the examinations was to identify failure mechanisms, assess suitability for continued service, and ensure its safety. I always worked independently and was capable of managing new problems without immediate assistance.I decided what methods were most appropriate to carry out the examinations to ensure that my conclusions are sufficiently justified. However, I also had to consider the costs this may have to the client with regards to lost production time and inconvenience.The main responsibilities of my role were as follows:Working with clients to plan inspections on time whilst considering their production requirements and complexities with equipment preparation.Organising third party engineers to carry out preparatory work.Overseeing and approving repairs and modifications.Calling for supplementary tests when a more in depth analysis is required.Producing the necessary legal paperwork and examination reports in accordance with company and statutory requirements.

Working within the Aircraft Design Office undertaking detailed design and analysis on civil and military aircraft.

Four year modern apprenticeship in aeronautical engineering, studying for a NVQ level 3 in airframe fitting and BTEC ONC & HNC in Aeronautical Engineering.
