Daniel Rubinstein is an existential-analytic psychotherapeutic counsellor (BACP registered) working in private practice and in the charitable sector, supporting clients online in a safe and confidential context. My background is in philosophy and the creative arts and I draw on these topics in my work; for example with artists and performers experiencing a creative block and performance anxiety.What is existential psychotherapy? Existential therapists respond to the authenticity of a client’s concerns and the reflection, or reality, of their world, not as evidence of any disorder or illness. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I provided emotional support for frontline NHS staff through to clients who are homeless. The really decisive moments in psychotherapy, as every patient or therapist who has ever experienced them knows, are unpredictable, unique, unforgettable, always unrepeatable, and often indescribable.
