Chief Of Staff To The Caltrans Chief Safety Officer, Headquarters Division Of Safety Programs
Current-Assist the Caltrans Chief Safety Officer in leading the relatively new Headquarters Division of Safety Programs.-Advise on confidential issues of policy, personnel, and governance.-Oversee the implementation of the Division’s first strategic plan, and coordinate deliverables for the other three strategic plans that affect the Division (Governor’s, oversight Agency’s, and the Department’s strategic plans).-Develop and review legislative analyses, budget change proposals, and federal notices of proposed rulemaking or funding opportunities.-Develop speeches, media interview answers, briefs, memos, fact sheets, presentations and other materials for the Caltrans Chief Safety Officer and the Division.-Track the Division’s internal policy and programmatic deliverables for the first-ever statewide Road Safety Action Plan as part of Caltrans’ shift towards the Safe Systems Approach.-Develop internal corporate governance and general procedures for the Division. Streamline work processes to alleviate staff workloads.-Triage incoming work requests for the Division and assign accordingly via the inaugural intake process.-Review and coordinate a variety of inter-Division and District memos, bulletins, and reports.-Manage the Caltrans Chief Safety Officer’s itinerary.
