Daniel S. is a Senior Geologist - CTG. Colleagues describe them as "Dan's position as Geologist III, in an open pit mine, was focused on ore control practices in support of achieving gold and silver production targets. This position requires daily fieldwork including geological evaluation of ore/waste shot muck, sample collection, geologic mapping, and operational support. The role also requires significant administrative functions including grade control releases, 3D geologic modeling, map production, QAQC, data tracking, and reporting. Software skills to accomplish these tasks require adept use of Vulcan, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, LIMS, and the Microsoft Office Suite. Dan has developed a proficient skillset regarding these tasks, and has met or exceeded the goals set for him as a Geologist III. Dan excelled in additional facets at the mine, which are not to be overlooked. Dan worked well in the team environment created within the Technical Services group. He acted as both a peer and mentor in geology, and also provided various levels of survey and mine engineering support. Dan liaised well with mine operations, and maintained a strong field presence in the pit and on the leach pads. He was often found in the assay and metallurgical labs, where he consistently followed up on assay results and sample status, assuring the quality of our ore control data. Dan also has a working knowledge of exploration practices; including geologic logging, drill targeting, sample processing procedures, and drilling logistics Dan is a dependable and motivated geologist.
