I lead and manage a team of 6 staff to serve up to 120 customers three course meals and to ensure they receive an excellent customer and valued service. I make sure that the team understand their duties, follow instructions, have support when needed and the customer experience remains the number one objective at all times. The working environment is fast paced and often very stressful and a I ensure a positive culture exists to get the best out of everyone. In this role I have developed strong leadership, management, customer service and teamwork, skills which have helped achieve an excellent final product. Working in a service industry has resulted in good communication and listening skills as well a need to work to targets and deadlines.

The aim of this internship was to produce an operation that would isolate certain points on an image taken from a microscope using the program Matlab on behalf of the company Andor. This entailed me working independently and having to learn how to use new programs such as Matlab and ImageJ as the internship progressed, as well as having to process large amounts of numerical data. This internship helped me to apply theoretical knowledge to a practical application and help improve both my problem solving and data analysis skills
