I am a detail-oriented fast learner always looking to take on a new challenge where there is something to learn from it. With over 10 continuous years of industry experience in a wide variety of technical roles, my primary areas of expertise are metallurgy (more specifically steel applications) and Application/Product Development. I am most strongly interested in roles with a strong focus on metallurgy and less on roles focused on commercial customer-facing positions (sales/technical sales, marketing, etc.).In my current role as a Product Development Engineer Lead I am responsible for managing the launch of new business opportunities, including managing projects through Stage-Gate, solving metallurgical and technical challenges, and presenting business cases for programs. I currently manage a portfolio of over a dozen active projects with a total expected sales value of over $10 million. My projects comprise a wide range of business sectors, from high level military and defense programs to renewable, clean energy technology. For two years I was a Senior Metallurgical Development Engineer responsible for facilitating customer claims, internal metallurgical quality, and failure analysis in the state-of-the-art TimkenSteel Technology Center, the only one of its kind in the specialty bar and tube steel manufacturing industry. Relying on my knowledge base of steel processing techniques across the industry I investigated metallurgical failures and determined root causes for failures.I was a Production Engineer in the Supply Chain Design and Engineering group for TimkenSteel for two years in which I was responsible for reviewing metallurgical capabilities of over 450 unique mill types reviewing metallurgical capability inquiries from customers including new applications, mechanical properties via heat treatment, and in-depth specification reviews and compliance both in application development trials and full production product. I started at The Timken Company in 2013 (then TimkenSteel later in 2014), which included time spent in metallurgical laboratories, application development, melt/refine/casting/bottom pour production (including commissioning of the world's largest Jumbo Bloom Vertical Caster), and heat treatment facilities. I was awarded my Lean 6 Sigma Green Belt in May 2016 after completing the classroom requirements and successfully implementing an automated Scanning Electron Microscope program.I graduated from Purdue University in 2013 with a bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering with a minor in Political Science.
Listed skills include Scanning Electron Microscopy, Microsoft Office, Technical Presentations, Materials, and 25 others.
