I am a Junior Research Group Leader working in ultrafast dynamics in solid-state physics. My work is focused on using resonant scattering techniques, mainly in the soft-X-ray regime, to follow laser-driven spin dynamics in magnetic nanostructures. I love to study the spatiotemporal profiles of complex spin structures such as antiferromagnets or magnetic multilayers after photoexcitation to gain a deeper understanding of the underlying fundamental processes. Due to my background in lattice dynamics using hard X-rays, I am keen to disentangle the interplay of spin and lattice degrees of freedom, e.g., during laser-driven phase transitions. Although being a frequent user of synchrotron-radiation facilities and free-electron lasers, I am fascinated by building and using laser-based soft-X-ray setups to conduct my experiments in a lab. I enjoy programming in Python, constantly publishing my own and contributing to others' free and open-source software, mainly for data acquisition, evaluation, and physical modeling.
