Working on the Solar Turbine Combustion Liner - Created a mesh in Hypermesh of the Titan-130 gas turbine combustion liner, which consisted of hundreds of dilution holes and multiple louvers. I set up modal and thermal stress analyses in ABAQUS. Working on the Pratt and Whitney Bypass Air Cooler - Set up a Thermal Transient, Modal and Thermal and Mechanical Stress analyses in Ansys Workbench of the PW800 Bypass Air Cooler. I used solution combinations to simulate dozens of conditions. I ran multiple iterations to determine appropriate mesh sizing. I determined areas of failure, then documented and reported them to customer. I set up a Star-CCM simulation to determine appropriate boundary conditions when the ones given yielded unrealistic results.
