Lizard Earth is an ethical cocoa grower and aggregator from Eastern Sierra Leone, driven by the agency of innovating the future of cocoa and chocolate. Together with our host communities, we cultivate Organic Agroforestry Cocoa Gardens under a responsible production- and governance model and build, certify and integrate local producer organizations into our inclusive sourcing platform. As a corner-stone of our production- and governance model, we foster talented smallholders to grow into successful Agri-Entrepreneurs who have the capacity to independently manage our Cocoa Gardens in the long-term.We currently maintain a cocoa farmer network of over 1,500 smallholders across Kailahun District (30% of whom are female farmers). Lizard Earth forms the link between our cocoa producers and cocoa buyers, chocolate makers and manufacturers, as well as various farmer support- and non-governmental development organizations. Placing strong emphasis on adding value at origin, Lizard Earth collaborates closely with the local chocolate manufacturer Organic Africa Chocolate. Through stringent standard processing protocols and quality support measures, we ensure that our buyer receive premium-quality cocoa from origin.We stand out from other aggregators by (1.) building close, long-term relationships with our host communities, (2.) developing the global niche-market for ethical, premium cocoa from Sierra Leone, and (3.) providing essential, year-round farm-level services to our smallholder producers, often in collaboration with partners and support initiatives.

• Oversee project: manage team, donor and beneficiary relations.• Design methodology and undertake Land Use Mapping and Action Planning Exercise; Develop a Responsible Land Lease Agreement.• Develop an ethical business case for large-scale investment in cocoa • Reporting and accountability (incl. financial management).• Represent WHH at (inter)national conferences & stakeholder events.

• Establish a 'Tracing and Mapping System' for the Sierra Leonean cocoa and coffee sector in collaboration with the private sector.• Design and implement an M&E-system for the work with private sector partners and rural farmers: analyse and report progress.• Develop innovative project approaches in collaboration with relevant stakeholders and draft proposals.• Document project achievements. Conceptualise and write briefing papers on the work of WHH in Sierra Leone; design thematic maps.

• Design, implement and document local-level land-use planning exercises in communal areas of Hardap Region, Namibia.• Support the Ministry in the implementation of the Community Based Natural Resource Management (CBNRM) policy: Facilitate the planning, coordination & monitoring of regional program activities.• Provide strategy-advice: Initiate a framework for assessing the institutional governance capacities and management structures of Conservancies and their compliance with program regulations.• Establish a regional stakeholder network and facilitate the sector dialogue: Organize working group meetings and draft meeting reports. Write memos and follow-up on agreed action.

• Manage the regional program component: Oversee the planning, implementation, monitoring and documentation of program activities; coordinate the field team and account for the budget. • Support the establishment and sustainable management of Community Forests: Mentor the program beneficiaries and promote capacity development through trainings, e.g. on sustainable resource management, environmental compliance and constitution development.• Facilitate external consultancies and represent the program across various platforms and vis-à-vis various stakeholders. Promote sector cooperation and liaise with the National Implementation Unit.• Optimize operational processes and devise management strategies: Contribute to the development of new national program standards.
