Hola! I am a highly motivated researcher and data scientist with a transdisciplinary background, with an interest at the intersection of computer science -- specifically machine learning and computer vision -- and marine ecology. I recently graduated from my PhD in Biology at the University of Bremen, where I developed state-of-the-art AI workflows to map the biotic communities in large image plots of coral reefs and mangrove forests. My current fields of interest are Spatial Ecology, Remote Sensing, Hyperspectral Imaging, Image Processing and Machine Learning. I also have experience working as a software developer/engineer and project manager in companies based in Peru, Germany and the US. I like giving life to new ideas, shown by the fact that, with the team of "Where's the party?", we won first place at a Global Startups Lab organised by the MIT. I like meeting new people, getting to know different languages and cultures and travelling. I also love playing football (so much so that I played 3 years as a professional goalie in the Peruvian First Division), playing guitar (when possible with my band), diving and taking landscape and wildlife pictures.
