Having pushed to achieve exemplary standards throughout the college of 300, I maintained continuity in ethos, discipline and positivity of the students as the head of establishment changed hands during my tenure.Whilst mentoring my tutor group of 20 I was also the key focus for all RN activities and stood as the head of military discipline and ethos roving between academic, physical and personal development to achieve the aims.In a team of 4 Service personnel, I was instrumental in the production of a training plan and delivery of a basic military syllabus to encourage and instil the pillars of military life: Commitment, courage, discipline, respect for others, integrity and loyalty were the focus as we developed young leaders.Working closely with the civilian teaching staff, I was able transform the young arrivals into confident, driven, focused yet personable adults as they continued onto further education maintaining their sponsorship with the Armed Forces or Civil Service. As the unit security officer I was responsible for the site security and the team of 14 staff. Developing links through social media to the Old Welbexian Association maintained a stream of young and more experienced advocates to fulfil a programme of talks and discussions at the college. Working closely with Paul Hardern and thanks to a significant donation from an Old Welbexian, the College website was reinvigorated and the work in curation bore its fruits in the electronic, and now accessible, database of all archive material.
