I have a direct communication style and set high standards for both myself and those working around me. This ‘firm but fair’ approach enables my team to know where they stand and to work efficiently to complete a project. With over 18 years of building and site management experience, I have worked on a range of projects including high-end architectural properties and large-scale commercial builds. I enjoy being challenged and take pride in the work I do. Given the opportunity, I will prove how I can use my skills in this role to deliver streamlined, successful results as an individual, and as part of a team. Thank you for your consideration.

Construction ManagerPlatinum Homes New Zealand Apr 2021 - PresentTauranga, Bay Of Plenty, New ZealandPlatinum Homes Tauranga had a change of franchise operators, and the new operators appointed me as their Construction Manager. There was a delayed start, and I knew I’d be starting with a small team. Going forward into the role, I have been responsible for all aspects of construction, organisation, and health and safety. Overseeing each project from start to finish has been a great challenge. Such responsibilities have included but are not limited to:- Client expectations - Health and safety- Site set out- Structural consultants - Foundations- Structural steel- Framing- Roofing - Exterior joinery- Cladding- Plumbing- Electrical- Ventilation/air con- Interior linings and trims- Kitchen, bathrooms, and tiles - Defecting, final clean, and handover Platinum use their own operating system for planning, pricing, and accounts. I am in charge of using the system to programme jobs, track jobs, and input data as required. I form strong relationships with all suppliers, sub trades and consultants, following up with phone calls to establish a clear line of communication to ensure efficient execution of all tasks on site. All queries from subcontractors on documentation and details came through me. I would either find documentation they didn’t have or source the information required from their designers or consultants. -
Site ManagerIline Construction Jan 2018 - Apr 2020Tauranga, Bay Of Plenty, New ZealandProject 1: The Pavilions, Mount Maunganui (January 2018 – December 2018)- Re-clad of 20 apartments and the restaurant below (Dixie Browns).- Managing all sub-contractors. - Liaising with senior management, clients, designers, and engineers to ensure key deadlines were met on time.- Key challenges: the timeframe was very tight on this project as all apartments needing to be available for summer trade. A lot of extra hours were put in and I was responsible for keeping the team motivated and meeting key milestones. The restaurant had to remain open during construction, so it was imperative that temporary protection was set up with minimal disruption to patrons. I managed the full scaffold and wrap of the site as well as re-doing the wrap after we lost it in a storm. - Outcomes: Everything was complete before Christmas and all stakeholders involved were happy with the result. Project 2: Salt Apartments, Bayfair (January 2019 – April 2020)- Two large apartment blocks, five medium-size town house blocks, and a childcare centre.- Responsible for the management of all five townhouse blocks and childcare centre as well as all aspects of construction and sub trades - from foundations to finish. - Liaising with senior management, clients, designers, and engineers to ensure key deadlines were met.- Key challenges: there was a broad scope of structural work to undertake and the timeframe was tight. Many design changes happened during the project which meant plenty of re-evaluating.- Outcomes: this project is still underway and had it not been put on hold for the Covid-19 lockdown, it would be complete now. 90% of apartments have already sold and are a high-end product with a semi architectural finish. -
Leading HandShaw Building Mar 2018 - Dec 2018Tauranga, Bay Of Plenty, New ZealandAfter spending several years working down in Christchurch, I returned to the Bay or Plenty and took a role with Shaw Building. After entering the team, it was clear they had two good site managers/foremen and it was unlikely a more senior position would become available. I then made the decision to step into site management in the commercial sector.
