The GMCA is the largest waste disposal authority in the country and the waste and resources team are responsible for managing two of the largest waste contracts in Europe. My role is to monitor a network of waste and recycling facilities that manage c1 million tonnes of waste and recycling each year. This requires the on site monitoring of contractual performance and compliance with relevant waste, environmental & health and safety legislation, with related data analysis, report writing and analysis of contract documents. Responsible for the on site monitoring and performance reporting of 15 council operated Household Waste Recycling Centres, 2 Re-use Shops & a Community Re-use and Recycling Centre serving over 1million residents in over 500,000 households. Working closely with numerous external offtakers to collate and analyse data, report performance and manage finances. Assistance was also provided in the management of operations, including the creation, management and implementation of improvement projects, procedures and risk assessments.Awarded LCC's higher apprentice of the year 2020 & nominated for regional and national apprenticeship awards.

Working as part of a team that successfully managed the in-sourcing of 15 HWRC’s & 2 TLS’s with the TUPE transfer of over 150 staff. During the transfer project I was involved in the creation and implementation of operational documentation, new procedures & systems, and sourcing PPE & operational equipment. I worked with transferring staff to ensure a smooth transition by partaking in consultation meetings and engaged with operational staff throughout the process to collate any queries and source required information.Alongside this project, completing an apprenticeship a year ahead of schedule and operating business as usual which included:- General administration- Managing a permit system- Managing the waste helpline and mailbox- Managing complaints
