Contributed to various pricing renewal tasks:-Calculated a revised monthly premium for one of our client's stop loss policies using Excel, company methodologies, and the results of various models that my team developed to propose a new price to the underwriting department.-Performed an exploratory data analysis in R Studio and Excel using July 2023 to June 2024 travel claims data from one of our travel partners to support my supervisor's analysis in implementing a model for pricing renewal purposes. Used Excel to construct a quantitative distribution for Total Case Expense by various age groups. Used R Studio to plot histograms of the Total Case Expense distribution for each individual age group.-Updated various pricing Excel workbooks using the most up to date claims experience data from the previous year to update projections for the coming year under trend factor assumptions developed by my team and verify if price changes are needed based on projected loss ratios.Other tasks:- Assisted in updating monthly IBNR Excel workbooks using SQL queries to pull updated monthly data for the purposes of calculating new month IBNR reserves, as well as for my supervisor to present the results to the rest of the pricing team and other departments.-Implementing ongoing modifications to reports using Excel formulas (i.e. SUMIFS, LOOKUP functions, and Logical functions), as well as Data Validation Drop Down lists to make more concise summary tables with filters.
