About Daniel Shook
With over 18 years of engineering and technology experience in the oil and gas industry, I have extensive knowledge in both upstream and downstream project execution, focusing extensively on data management, software development, and implementation based on engineering requirements. After starting in front line engineering as a Pipe Stress Engineer, performing piping flexibility analysis on various projects throughout all phases from conceptual design to commissioning and then advancing to a lead role, I transitioned to a career in Technology Development and Implementation for Engineering. I have a proven track record of enhancing work processes, developing and implementing new technologies, and creating data management solutions. My expertise primarily revolves around the Siemens, Bentley, and Hexagon/Intergraph suite of tools (COMOS, SP&ID, SI, SEL, S3D, SC) as well as Master Data Management Solutions (Stibo Step). I have personally managed multiple successful corporate initiatives to develop and implement enterprise applications from initiation to rollout, and I have developed custom integration solutions to improve work efficiency.I collaborate with all disciplines to review work processes, develop new applications, and support project implementation. I work closely with software suppliers to develop new programs and enhance existing software. My experience includes budgeting, planning, and all aspects of resource management and project planning related to technology development and implementation. I hold two patents for software applications that combine work process improvements with engineering knowledge.I am well-versed in ASME B31.3 and other industry codes and standards, and still globally manage Pipe Stress analysis programs AutoPIPE and Caesar II internally for Fluor.
Listed skills include Piping, Engineering, P&Id, Epc, and 28 others.

Principle Engineering Specialist And Subject Matter Expert
Global Expert and Systems Administrator for both Piping and Mechanical Master Data Management Applications. Activities include upgrading existing tools and systems to work with new versions of software, alignment with internal data standards, develop integration for other tools and systems within Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Estimating and Project Controls Systems, train new users and offices on work processes. Additional responsibilities include data governance and data standard development and implementation. In addition, I attend ASME B31.3 and ASME BPVC Code Committee Meetings as a representative of Fluor. I also manage Bentley AutoPIPE and Hexagon Caesar II internally.
Engineering Data Manager
Managed Development of Corporate Solutions for Mechanical and Piping Data Managers. This includes performing development activities, additional resource allocation, budget planning, integration activities, standards specifications and others. Mechanical Data Manager is a database solution for managing the Master Equipment List and Mechanical Data Sheets. The solution is built on the Siemens COMOS Platform. Shared attributes are linked from the datasheets and into a database and reported in the equipment list. Solution integrates with HTRI for Heat Exchanger Analysis and also with Process Data Manager to allow for seamless population of Process Data on Equipment Data Sheets.Piping Data Manager is a web based solution for managing the Piping Line List, Specialty Item List, Tie In List, and Stress Log. Solution is built on the Stibo Step Platform. Integration exists for importing Process Data into the Line List. The data in the line list is then integrated to all of the other managed lists. Both solutions help to enforce and track change management of attributes and enforce work processes by limiting the ability of users to input incorrect data.
Innovation Manager
Worked to improve work processes, develop and implement new technology and data management solutions. Primarily focused around the Siemens and Intergraph Suite of Tools (COMOS, SP P&ID, SPI, SPEL, SP3D, SPC). Managed multiple corporate initiatives to develop and implement enterprise applications. Activities also included working with non-execution disciplines such as estimating and project controls.I worked with all disciplines to review work processes, develop new applications, and work with projects on implementation. I worked with Bentley and Intergraph software suppliers to develop new programs and provide enhancements to existing software. I created and managed a team that developed new applications for use on projects. I have 2 patents on software applications which combine work process improvements with Engineering Knowledge.I reviewed emerging technologies such as AR, VR, 3D printing, drones, and others to see how they can be applicable to Fluor. I developed software applications and managed other programmers to fit the needs of engineering. This includes performing development activities, additional resource allocation, budget planning, integration activities, standards specifications and others.
