Director of Administrative Computing Services, for 9 years over saw the Networking & Telecommunications team, enterprise server team, and Banner programming student information system team. I currently oversee the enterprise applications & Banner student information programming team.I oversaw the selection, planning and implementation of the largest voice over IP implementation Cisco had ever done to-date. Utilizing Ronco Communications as one of Cisco Systems premiere implementation partners we imbarked on SUNY's first full and complete college wide converged VOIP network infrastructure. This initiative replaced an aging Nortel telecommunications switch and an unsupported 3com data infrastructure. We implemented over 2000 IP phones, hundreds of routers, switches and wireless access points. We implemented supporting software, including a call center queuing application. Back in 2002-2003 this was a leap of faith moving forward with a state-of-the-art converged infrastructure such as this.Served on the Governors Taskforce to bring an emergency notification system to SUNY after the Virginia Tech shooting. This taskforce appointed by the governor consisting of representation from Systems Administration, campus UPD Dirctors, and technology experts, and in collaboration with SEMO (State Emergnecy Management Office) brought to all campuses SUNY NY-Alert. The ultimate goal was to get an emergency message out to as many people as possible and in as short of time as possible (texting, email, phone, fax). This solution was free to all campuses and is still a critical emergency communications method used today.
