Primary Responsibilities: Complete balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statements as part of month end process for five facilities. Complete board reports, attended board meetings, and answer questions from owners about their financials. Collaborate with facility administrators to prepare annual budgets for five facilities. Assist and train accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll personnel to ensure their work is accurate and proper back up is provided.Train new accountant managers in their part of the general ledger close process and other accounting duties. Perform special projects and ad hoc reporting requests including financial comparisons between facilities, cash projections, and bad debt analysis. As part of reimbursement team, analyze financials and back up documentation for all facilities company wide, provide correcting entries, prepare Medicaid cost reports required by the state, gather Medicaid audit documentation and answer auditor questions. Key Accomplishments: Determined process on communication between general ledger software and billing software using an Excel macro saving several hours of time and two hundred dollars a month by eliminating the need for a download conversion from an outside company that required heavy editing. Decreased time it took to enter journal entries from eight hours to twenty minutes by creating a journal entry spread sheet with a macro that instantly prepared it for download to the general ledger software. One of a three-person improvement committee that created financial analysis spreadsheets to help standardize reporting of all of the facilities. Reduced time in intercompany audit process from three days per facility to one day per facility by downloading reports into Excel and using pivot tables to analyze data. Helped create and implement company wide financial comparison spreadsheets as well as balance sheets, cash flows, bank reconciliations and other statements.

Primary Responsibilities:Completed Medicare and Medicaid cost reports for over twenty hospice, home health, and skilled nursing facilities in two months. Helped in hiring process of seasonal employees and trained them to complete cost reports. Prepared tax returns under the direction of the CPA. Helped with various accounting duties for companies owned by the CPA including bank recs, preparing journal entries, and conducting financial analysis.
