As a Consulting Engineer, I predominantly ran projects in the Advanced Materials vertical of the company and was responsible for ensuring consistent throughput of work through this department. The work included research and development projects, failure investigations (RCA), polymer/material identification, process optimization, expert witness work and mechanical testing.These projects covered several engineering disciplines but were mainly focused on composite engineering, polymer engineering, biomedical engineering, process engineering, and mechanical engineering. Several chemical identification and analysis projects also improved my proficiency in analytical chemistry.

As a Junior Engineer, I completed several projects in both the Advanced Materials (AM) and Metallurgical verticals of the company. In the initial 1-2 months, my time was spent in training and assisting senior engineers and scientists with testing and data processing. After roughly 2 months, my responsibility and autonomy grew significantly, and I was solely responsible for several projects at a time.In the AM vertical, I ran several product development and testing projects on composite and polymer-based products. I became efficient at collating testing plans based on the clients’ requirements and quoting for a wide variety of projects. I was also responsible for several material identification projects whereby analytical methods (such as FTIR, DSC, TGA, ICP-MS/OES, P-XRD and/or Raman) were used to conclusively identify unknown polymers, oils, gels and powders.In the Metallurgical vertical, the projects included mechanical testing, micro-structural analysis, failure investigation and report writing. I also gained further experience and proficiency using Fusion 360.

Developed an alcohol-free hand sanitiser. Designed the small-scale manufacturing plant for the hand sanitizer and investigated potential options for scale-up of the manufacturing process. As a side project, I designed a shelving system for the kilns.4 Weeks of Vacation Work
