I have worked only one paid job at Water's Edge in Centerport as a server. As a serve I am always working with and exposed to new people which has really allowed my social and public speaking skills to develop. It also has instilled in me a sense of teamwork because I am always helping or receiving help from my coworkers. Being a team player has always been important to me ever since I started playing soccer at a young age. I also have volunteered in various places throughout my life. Volunteering has rewarded me with various different skills and have instilled a strong work ethic in me. I have volunteered at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Respite program. At Respite, volunteers engage with and care for individuals with mental or physical disabilities. This allows for the individual to feel seen, have fun, and also gives their caretaker time to run errands or complete other tasks. I have also volunteered at the Northport VA Medical Center, where I would clean the grounds of the Hospital. Cleaning the vast grounds provides the veterans with a beautiful and safe place to live in, and visit with families. This volunteer work would include weeding, raking, planting, laying mulch, picking up trash and more.
