I currently hold the position of Principal for Land Development within Bigen Africa. We firmly believe that municipal infrastructure is one of the key drivers of modern civilisation.Our municipal infrastructure service offering is focused on both urban and rural developmenc which in turn comprises residential, commercial, industrial and agricultural land use. My role/responsibilities:• Technical Lead on various projects:* Design of the internal and bulk services for various residential developments, including Steyn City (11,000 unit upmarket residential development)* Design of the Blybank reservoir and pipelines* Design of the internal sewer for Lerato Park (5,000 residential unit development)* Design of the Kruisfontein Bulk pipeline and reservoir• Design of various water reticulation, sewer reticulation, roads, stormwater and bulk pipelines• Compilation of various outline scheme reports, design and evaluation reports, including the compilation of the "Optimisation of pipe diameter and risk-based analysis for the Lukalo-Lambani gravity main, NN20B and NR6 rising mains" for the Department of Water Affairs.• Compilation of various tender and bid documents• Tender evaluations• Liaison with Clients, Consultants, Authorities, Landowners and Contractors• E3 Chairman for the Design and Estimating Systems for Bigen Africa• Young Professionals Chairman for Bigen Africa in 2011• Part of Bigen Africa Land Development Management Team• Scheduling of resources required to complete projects• Project Management on various projects

• Project Management (drawing up of project agreement for client sign-off, compilation of fee estimate, identification and selection of team, compilation of programme, writing task agreements for team, monthly billing, liaison with client, responsible for delivery of project under budget and on programme and for quality of projects, managing team and scope control, Health & Safety Plan and Project Execution Plan) of various projects• Planning/Investigation/Preliminary design to determine project feasibility and set out design requirements• Design Engineer/Technical Lead on various sewer / water / stormwater projects • Liaison with tenderers & client during tender period and evaluation of tenders, writing of tender recommendations to Council • Contract Management, site monitoring (Resident Engineer), meetings & liaison with client and contractor during Construction phase of various projects

• Design of bulk water distribution: Steel, GRP and uPVC pipelines. Includes all aspects of design (pipe material, valves, road and stream crossings, chambers (concrete and reinforcing), thrust blocks and supports for pipeline manifolds) and Surge analysis.• Completion of design of reservoirs (16 ML pre-stressed and 5 ML reservoirs).• Various ad hoc designs (Security gates, fences, I-beams, etc.).• Drawing up of Schedule of quantities.• Writing of design and reconnaissance reports.• Compilation of tender documents.• Overseeing construction (acting as design engineer) of pipelines, reservoirs and pumping stations to ensure construction according to specifications. If necessary, adjusting designs accordingly.• Reviewing of design reports of contracts.• Liaison with relevant parties.• The use of CADDIE, Ventomat, SURGE2000 and Prokon in designs.• Knowledge of DWAF specifications.
