In 2019, I moved to UCIBIO FCT-NOVA to develop my scientific independence, and focus on projects related to cellular diversity in health and disease, towards more translatable biomedical research.

I headed the Bioinformatics Unit of IGC to provide support to research groups within the institute that need assistance with biological data analysis. We provided support at different levels, from basic consulting to direct project collaboration with data analysis.

My main expertise is ChIP-Seq and regulatory data, but have also worked with bacterial genome resequencing and.

I've worked in the Functional Genomics team belonging to the ENSEMBL project (www.ensembl.org). I used bioinformatic tools to analyse biological data to annotate genomes. Namely, I've worked with large scale NGS datasets (eg. ENCODE) to annotate regulatory regions in mouse and human. In this context I mainly worked with Perl, MySQL and R.
