Dr Soffer is an associate professor of medicine and director, endovascular cardiology at UF Health Jacksonville, Florida and is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology and Endovascular Medicine. He performs coronary, peripheral and structural heart interventions including TAVR, Mitraclip, and Watchman procedures as well as PFO, ASD and VSD closures and recently performed one of the first two Transcaval TAVRs in the entire North Florida region. in addition to high risk coronary interventions and carotid stenting he performs limb salvage procedures using all thrombectomy and atherectomy devices available in the USA. Over the last 20 years Dr Soffer trained dozens of national and international interventional fellows. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and The Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions.Prior to moving to Florida he worked at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC from 2011 to 2015 as the co-director of the carotid endovascular services and as the director of the vascular medicine laboratory at the Mount Sinai Heart and Vascular center in midtown Manhattan. From 2004 to 2011 he was the associate director of the interventional fellowship program and a member of the coronary, peripheral and structural heart interventional teams at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York. Dr Soffer has been the co-investigator in numerous clinical trials assessing new techniques and devices in the coronary, carotid and peripheral interventional arenas as well as in structural heart interventions. He was selected as one of America’s top physicians by the Consumers’ Research Council of America and as the Cambridge professional of the year in Cardiovascular Medicine.
