It all started in 2010, I taught myself the basics of web development using HTML/CSS/JS. Helped friends with UI changes and started learning my first real programming language... Ruby. I started out as a junior developer working on the full-stack from views to the database. I became very comfortable using sass and made simple JS scripts for front-end functionality. I've always been thoughtful in documenting company and project processes during development and I've taken time to help team members any time I can.At Metova I was given the opportunity to work directly with the client as a project manager while simultaneously developing the client's technical needs. I’ve mentored teams of 2-4 members using Agile project management and Scrum practices. I also was given the opportunity to get comfortable with Dev Ops tools; completing project configurations on AWS and CI configurations with Jenkins. Still my main role has always been a developer and I learned to manage my code, team members, and clients as efficiently as possible. I was able to prioritize between meetings, challenging backend problems that took research, and frontend tasks. I built JSON APIs for our mobile team using Ruby on Rails and had to solve challenging problems like single sign-on authentication, merging media files programmatically, and using C libraries in Ruby. Additionally I've been apart of researching slow SQL queries in SQL/Postgresql and refactoring old code bases with Object-oriented programming and SOLID design principle.I've been working with react since v12. I I've gotten comfortable with webpack and various npm packages. I can jump in on the front-end or back-end and am not opposed to learning new languages if the role is right.
