Along with Danfoss Drives I studied the new generation of MOSFETs made from SiC (silicon carbide) that present far more superior characteristics than the old, but well-established Si counterpart. Because the SiC manufacturing technology is relatively new, devices such as MOSFETs tend to present variability in their static and dynamic characteristics. Using a Curve Tracer and a DPT (Double Pulse Test) methods I determined that the parameter variation of static characteristics of SiC MOSFETs affects the dynamic performance as well.
