•Development and management of project budgets for labor, materials, and equipment, and provide the budget in a timely manner to support preplanning and progress on projects.•Effectively solicit competitive proposals and negotiate buyout of materials, vendors, and subcontractors.•Reviewing and pricing all project cost/impact events.•Supervise project team, including managing and coordinating work for Project Engineers.•Submittals/Shop Drawings: Complete assembly of the submittal package, status tracking and information share with the project team in a manner that supports the project schedule. •Schedule of Values: Setup of the SOV at Job Setup and provide input on monthly billings based on knowledge of project scopes percent complete. •Forecasting: Analyze job cost trends.•Job cost trends: Utilize job cost reports, production information gathered to provide weekly cost trend information.•Manpower Plan: Assemble a manpower projection plan calculating projected manpower required by week for the duration of a project. •Change Management: Complete quantity takeoffs of changes, compile material quotes, assemble labor changes for deviations from the original contract scope. •Generate contracts for sub-labor and subcontractors. •Vendor setup requests & coordinating documents •Track Sub Labor progress vs. billings (SF), verify T&M work. •Material Tracking: Assist project team with material quantities percent complete, including periodic counts of material stored onsite.•360 Photo Capture: Using OpenSpace AI, capture weekly progress photos via the 360-degree camera during jobsite walk.•Exit Plan: Assemble project Exit plan with data from Job Leader, manage updates and communication of the plan with project team.•Project close out: Analyzing project cost information and preparing reports for project close out meetings. Assemble applicable warranties, O&M manuals, attic stock information and other required closeout documents for each project.

SUMMARY The purpose of this position is to prepare shop drawings and hardware schedules and to manage projects from start to completion. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following listed below. Other duties may be assigned. Prepare shop drawings and hardware schedules - Coordinate the interaction of the various components on the schedules so that there are not any conflicts in the operation of the project door openings - Study catalogues and learn the parameters of products and their proper application Project management - Required to be a good troubleshooter for problems as they come up. Must be good at interpreting information received from the customer regarding problems and be able to properly visualize the problem, and with this, offer solutions. Maintain customer relations - Balance the needs of the customer with the needs of our business regarding profitability. Responsible for project profitability, which include negotiating with vendors and customers - Successfully deal with vendors to get maximum discounts or gain trade-offs - Negotiate with customers on pricing issues and on problem issues, while maintaining good customer relations. Ability to draw two-dimensional designs - Use CAD effectively. Prepare business correspondence - Write and communicate effectively with customers, architects, suppliers, and other entities. Interpret plans, specifications and building codes - Read blueprints, specifications, and building codes and interrelate all three. - Interpret what is being asked and see problems before they arise, and solve similar problems if they arise. Daily coordination with other departments - Communicate with other departments who are carrying out the designed work, by pointing out problems to them and helping to provide solutions. - Keep other departments up to date on job needs and expectations. Manages daily activities of Shop (Welding, Door Conversion, Aluminum Shop) and Delivery/Warehouse by planning, organizing and coordinating tasks, available materials, and labor resources. Actively support and participate in Continuous Improvements activities.Participate when possible in all hands-on shop activities.Ensure completion of all material receiving, pulling, and shipping.Ensure weekly delivery schedule for all materials required to fulfill Contract and Retail orders is being met. Coordinate the delivery schedule with the all of the key parties: Customers, LaForce Sales or Project Managers, Installation Subcontractor Work with Installation Project Manager and Installers to ensure Pre-hardware doors are completed. Support and direct departmental activities for safe work methods.Monitor and maintain optimum workload level for shop.Lead shop and fleet maintenance efforts.Process all branch work order related documents and perform related computer entries. Investigate and identify root causes and develop corrections to procedures or other systems to reduce/eliminate quality variations. Train and mentor new shop and warehouse personnel on an as-needed basis. Assist with developing and maintaining training plans for Austin shop personnel. Procure supplies and equipment necessary for shop production requirements. Establish accounts with local suppliers as required. Use Green Bay as a source for certain materials. Promote accuracy of inventory.Process RRG’s for jobs. Ensure material is shipped back to manufacturers.Track and record hollow metal production output. General shop maintenance.Supervisory Responsibilities: Shop & Warehouse Personnel in the Austin location.
