Daniel has a bachelor’s degree in finance at Laval University. He worked 18 years for the Canadian federal government as a financial analyst and project manager mostly with Parks Canada and the Canada School of Public Service. In 1996, he joined Samson and Associate to become the vice-president and lead associate in charge of the Learning and Facilitation Services. He worked on several public sector reforms in Canada and abroad related to accountability, performance reporting and values and ethics. Daniel St-Onge has trained over 30,000 people of all levels in various management fields such as financial management, values & ethics, risk management and sustainable development. He also has participated in several financial audits and program evaluations for the Canadian public sector, the United Nations (UNESCO and UNHCR) and non-profit organizations in Canada and in developing countries. His extensive experience as a manager, consultant, learning advisor and financial specialist was critical in the implementation of pragmatic and realistic solutions. Daniel has been instrumental to the improvement of the Canadian public service management practices. He has been working (and commuting) abroad in Brazil, Mexico, U.S.A. and Haiti following his wife who was a senior executive with Global Affairs Canada. He is a firm believer in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) and the necessity to act quickly. He is married and has one daughter.
