As an intern, I was responsible for planning, documenting, and optimizing manufacturing processes using CAM software for centerline components on commercial and military aircraft actuation systems in Moog's Aircraft Centerline Group. My work consisted of designing the tool packages, providing technical support to machinists and suppliers to solve problems and improve and maintain production efficiency. I was also responsible for creating and updating technical drawings for parts, ensuring compliance with ASME Y14.5 principle compliance.

As a high school junior, I designed and fabricated a high tolerance, "stave-construction" snare drum to withstand tension levels much greater than the commonly used "ply construction" method while still being able to produce an acoustically favorable result. Tests were performed using custom-designed instruments and measurement systems to measure head tension and audio-spectral properties in comparison to a ply drum control. The results of the study included a 115% increased tuning range and 15% greater amplitude than the control values. This was most likely due to the greater resonant properties that are inherent with the stave construction method.The study was submitted for publication in the Elsevier Journal of Sound and Vibration, but rejected due to my lack of credibility as a research author. In November 2021, the study was presented to the school board to showcase the work that comes out of the technology department. The study received multiple awards at a local and national level from the University of Rochester and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME).
