My career experience and skills have grown from my passion for engineering, understanding how things work and making them better. I have been able to utilise those skills through various roles in my career.The start of my career required me to quickly gain the technical and electromechanical knowledge to install, commission and repair a wide range of desktop business mailing machinery. It also opened my eyes to the true client experience from start to finish. Hard work, an enthusiastic attitude, training and technological advances enabled me to progress my role to much larger equipment along with using an increasing array of digital technologies and software.Being one of only two countrywide technicians to oversee the correct deployment of true digitally connected mailing solutions advanced my IT skills even further. A natural progression from here took me into the Technical Consultant/Business Analyst role i have enjoyed for the past 8 or more years.Through all of my career my passion has always been to do the best i can for my clients and customers.I am currently gaining the true inbound mailing experience at Communisis with the Capture Solutions Team. Learning new processes and software such as Kofax RPA and KTA while making sure the Solutions team provide their clients with excellent service.My time with Communisis has come to an end. I am truly thankful to the solutions team for all their help and support over the past year but it was time to move on.I am happy to be on the next step of my career by joining We Seal as a Customer Support Engineer.

    My role as Technical Solutions Consultant allowed my to use my many years of experience and knowledge at Pitney Bowes to help the Account Managers provide clients with a full mailing system solution.I was responsible for meeting with clients at an operational and technical level to discuss their needs and requirements for a mailing solution. This could be for just a mailing system such as the Connect+ or one of PB's table top inserting systems with Barcode recognition software that provide an intelligence to the processing of letters, invoices, statements an the like. Software would often be included with the solution that would allow clients to pre-sort their documents some for remote fulfillment, onsite fulfillment or digitally sent.My main area of focus in this role was my knowledge of SendSuite Tracking software and hardware that provided clients with a solution to track both incoming and outgoing mail and packages. It could also be configured to track assets and log visitors coming into the business.I was tasked with compiling the requirements and information in a pre-sales environment to then document the solution in a Statement of Work ready for the Solution Architects to build and deploy the solution.Other duties included post sales follow ups along with the odd solution build and deployment myself. I also provided technical assistance to the field service engineers on a regular basis.Due to internal changes and restructuring, the role of Technical Consultant was merged with the Business Analyst role which came next in my career at PB.

    Pitney Bowes introduced the a new concept in the world of Franking Machines by bringing to market the Connect+ mailing system. The Connect+ was truly that, a machine to connect the users with more than just a franking machine but a whole raft of mailing concepts common place in the modern age.The connectivity of the machine required a true network interface instead of the older dial up/modem methodology of previous machines. Pitney Bowes required two individuals to cover the entire country that would be responsible for ensuring a smooth deployment at a client site. Conversations needed to be had with client IT departments and Post rooms at a technical and operational level for the Connect+ installation teams to deploy the mailing system in an environment quite new to the field engineers as most had no or little knowledge of computer networks and internet connectivity.Many lessons were learned in the early days after the launch but it soon became apparent that field engineers would need to gain a new skill set and expertise as to the amount of Connect+ machines being sold. Both myself and my network technician colleague took it upon ourselves to share our knowledge with a range of training courses delivered to the field on a regular basis along with creating a regular form that the engineers could use on pre-installation site visits to again aid their experience and also provide a smooth deployment of the products. The engineers and form were successful enough to allow them to continue with the pre-installation visits and allow me to move on again to a technical consultant role for the Connect+ but also transition to consultation on Paper handling products and Package tracking software such as SendSuite Tracking.

    My role as Field Service Engineer started out with me working on the more analogue and mechanical franking machines that Pitney Bowes pioneered. Receiving regular training on new products, i was able to progress my role to work on all the franking machines that PB put into the market place as well as all of the table top paper handling machinery. As the products became more and more digital in nature then the need for software became more evident. Self-training on PC literacy and training on PB software products allowed me to progress even further with my knowledge and expertise of practically all PB SMB prduct lines. These included Franking machines, Table top inserters, Folding machines, Bursters, Cutters, Address printers and software to go with those products. The software included SendSuite Tracking, Franking machine accounting software, Address printer software, OMR and Barcode software on the inserters and a few more. The territory i covered varied from a small patch of postcodes when i started to covering most of the north of the country with specialist knowledge of many PB products.In my time as a Field Service Engineer i received a number of recognition phone calls and letters of praise from Presidents of the company and Directors for my achievements and work ethic.
