As the Lead Accountant embedded in the Manage Assets Service Delivery Value Stream I was responsible for c£750M part of the contract.Responsible for monthly financial reporting for the entire project, which included in year and long term forecasting of KPI’s. Monthly variance analysis of KPI’s with communication to senior stakeholders. I held monthly balance sheet reviews with senior management and adhoc liaison with auditors. Other parts of the role included Cash Forecasting and Variation on Price calculations. I established and maintained a Cash Forecasting Policy that has been shared across other parts of the business as best practice. I led the monthly finance reviews for Manage Assets, reviewing individual status reports and challenging any anomalies. Within my role I provided governance and support to Service Delivery Managers in relation to Commitment, Risk and Opportunity and through the quarterly Estimate at Completion Reviews up to Director Level, along with supporting Procurement and Commercial ratifying Contract Change Proposal submissions. Working as a key member of the Herti project finance team I provided support to Project Management and Engineering functions as well as standard project finance reporting. Due to the nature of the project a close relationship between commercial and finance was developed, as frequent requests for quotations would be received. Along with future assumptions around order intake being agreed with the head of new business in order for the Integrated Business Plan (IBP) to be produced. As part of the IBP planning I developed a model which could take various planning assumptions and summarize by key performance indicators for management review.
