The projects vary from creating and implementing new IT systems to restructuring and optimizing the flow of goods and materials within the organization. My main job, however, is the realization of the broadcasting of international events, such as the Olympic Games or the World Championship of football.As a logistics and intercultural expert my task is to realize the project objectives agreed on with the management. I represent my internal clients' interests on an international level while managing the professionals and sub-contractors from various cultural backgrounds who are working on the given project to ensure the quality standards and aims of the project are met.My responsibilities also include but are not limited to risk management, customs clearing for temporary and permanently imported goods and materials as well as recruiting of the previously mentioned sub-contractors. A key factor, as well as a big challenge to the success of international and multicultural work is to be aware of cultural diversity and to constantly be in close contact to the participants of the project whether they are located in the headquarters or around the world. To ensure the necessary communication for a successful outcome of the project, travel and flexible working hours according to the time difference between the country in which the project will be realized and the German headquarters are indispensable. In the process of moving our Cairo branch my task as the project manager for administration is to coordinate the construction work, contractors and suppliers, cashflow and to organize the final move of the branch. The position also requires to coordinate the communication between the local employees, contractors, suppliers and the engineers in our headoffice.
