I've tackled a range of topics in my career, covering everything from collapsing coastlines in Alaska to science education in Maryland and the psychology of menu design. In 2010, I completed the Science Communication Graduate Program at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Since then, I've worked as a science writer at a number of different outlets and wrapped up internships at Science News and Science magazines. Since 2018, I've worked at the University of Colorado Boulder where I cover research in space, physics, engineering, natural history, K-12 education and more—tackling stories on everything from quantum computers to Rocky Mountain snails and underground search-and-rescue robots.I'm also a savvy web designer with a background in Drupal, WordPress and more.
