A Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) program is a model for community policing that brings together law enforcement, mental health providers, hospital emergency departments, and individuals with mental illness and their families to improve responses to people in crisis. CIT programs enhance officer communication through mental health resources for assisting people in crisis while ensure that officers get the training and support that they need. CIT programs also provide officers with intensive training that connect them with a team of clinicians and fellow officers who can advise, problem-solve, and support them when a challenging situation occurs. CIT provides personal interaction with people who have experienced and recovered from mental health crisis, as-well-as family members who have cared for loved ones with mental illness. General Law Enforcement Instructors are responsible general law enforcement instruction safety through performance oriented training and is responsible for lesson plan/course development. Topics range from instructor liability and lesson plan design, to testing and evaluation of learning. General Law Enforcement Instructors possess presentation skills necessary to teach a variety of lesson plans related to law enforcement.

Responsible for providing funeral honors for fallen comrades and other civil servants. Honor guard may also serve as the "guardians of the colors" by displaying and escorting the national flag on ceremonial occasions at official functions.

SWAT Operators are responsible for resolving high-risk tactical situations. An individual SWAT Operators specialized training and flexibility allow the SWAT team to tackle a wide variety of tactical situations to include: hostage situations, high-risk warrant service operations, search and rescue operations, tactical waterborne operations, covert and undercover tactical operations, special circumstances such as crowd control and rural searches and many other high-risk circumstances. The individual SWAT Operator is often one of the most highly trained officers within a police department.

Responsible for conducting in-depth collision analysis and motor vehicle collision reconstruction to identify the collision causation and contributing factors in different types of collisions, including the role of the driver(s), vehicle(s), roadway and the environment. An Accident Reconstructionist provides rigorous analysis that an expert witnesses can present at trial. Accident reconstructions are done in cases involving fatalities, and often when personal injury is involved. Results from accident reconstructions are also useful in developing recommendations for making roads and highways safer, as well as improving safety aspects of motor vehicle designs.

The City of Smyrna Police Department Bike Patrol Unit's goal is to provide our residents and visitors with an unsurpassed level of expertise and dedication. The Bike Officer's primary responsibility is to facilitate positive police/civilian relations by interfacing with the general public throughout the city on a regular basis. As a police detective, I was assigned to the Intelligence Unit of the Marietta/Cobb/Smyrna Organized Crime Task Force (MCS) as an undercover intelligence agent. During my assignment, I was responsible for investigating a wide variety of complaints ranging from illegal drugs, vice (e.g. commercial gambling, prostitution, etc.), to other organized crime activity that could not be investigated by day-to-day field personnel due to the complexity of the investigations. MCS is sub-divided into two separate units, each with its own unit commander, personnel, and responsibilities. The two units within the Organized Crime Task Force are the Narcotics Unit and the MCS Intelligence Unit. Participating Cobb County law enforcement agencies providing both supervisory and non-supervisory personnel, and their investigative responsibility includes both incorporated and unincorporated Cobb County.I was later transferred to the City of Smyrna Criminal Investigations Division where I was responsible for investigating identifying and investigating local street gangs, prison gangs, organized crime, and their related criminal activities through the remainder of my investigative career.
