Worked with Colorado Dept of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHSEM) as a contractor to provide Senior EOC support. Assigned as the Operations Branch Chief in the SW Migrant mission. Responsible for 30 person team assigned to assist the City of Denver with migrant influx operations. Mission included operating an Intake Center, Coordinating shuttle transportation, and Coordinating NGO activities.

I served as a Line Captain with South Metro Fire Rescue (SMFR). SMFR provides emergency Fire and EMS response to a rapidly growing suburban area southeast of Denver Colorado. I have had the honor and privilege of leading groups of courageous, compassionate, amazing people in various capacities as an Officer since 1995. Over the years I have also had a number of opportunities to be a part of or lead a number of department Committees and Work Groups. Never underestimate the power of a small group of determined people!

CO-TF1 is one of the 28 National FEMA Urban Search & Rescue (US&R) Teams that respond to disasters on a State and National basis. Each US&R Task Force has the ability to deploy a self-sufficient 70-person team that can conduct search & rescue operations in a disaster setting for up to 72 hours without additional support. Worked for a number of years as the Logistics Manager for CO-TF1 - transitioned to the position of TFL in 2002. Served on the US&R Incident Support Team (IST) since 1995 in the following positions:• Logistics • POA Mobilization Specialist• Demobilization Unit Leader • Transportation Unit Leader• US&R Specialist The IST provides incident management support to US&R Task Forces operating in the field. It also provides operational and management “linkage” between the Task Forces and local, State, and Federal government during deployments. Responded to numerous disasters/events including:• 1995 Oklahoma City bombing• 2001 NYC World Trade Center collapse• 2002 Winter Olympics• 2004 G8 meeting• 2008 RNC• 11 hurricane deployments over the years including: Charley, Katrina, Ivan, and Sandy • 2013 Colorado floods

Served as the coordinator and an Incident Commander for the Arapahoe County Incident Management Team (ACIMT) - a regional Type IV All-Hazards IMT that strived to train and operate at a Type III level. The ACIMT was comprised of individuals from Fire, EMS, Law Enforcement, and other agencies from across the Denver metro area. It had the ability to provide incident management and support in the field or to staff emergency support functions in local and State EOC’s (Emergency Operation Center).
