Exploring mosquitoes at the molecular level. Mosquitoes serve as the most important vectors for the transmission of arthropod borne viruses (arboviruses) and their subsequent vector-borne diseases. My research sets out to not only classify these pesky carriers, but also gain a better understanding of the viral content they carry with the potential to discover previously unknown viruses.I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in molecular virology at the National Centre for Foreign Animal Disease, part of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
