Test Engineer
CurrentWorked within Office of University Programs at the Department of Homeland Securityto provide division level support to programs, provide an interface with non-DHS personnel, develop guidance for divisional goals and needs, and improve data collection and storage policy to ensure validity, accuracy, and ease of use, including automation of data consumption to reduce repetitive data entry and manipulation tasks.Supported federal program managers on technical aspects of government projects for the explosives detection and characterization division, including working on behalf of PM to maintain contact and follow up on programmatic and technical matters with performers. Duties included:* management of program- and project-level budgets, including drafting of congressional justifications, international cofounding agreements, and unfunded requirements language* working with testing labs to develop test schedules and develop and review developmental and integration test plans, and ensuring validation and verification of delivered prototypes* working with customers to develop proposal solicitation requests for R&D projectsTechnologies developed include management of next-generation algorithm development for x-ray technology in security applications, particle adhesion and transport characterization research, and participation in the Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Machine Learning Working Group for Security Solutions, defining policy for DHS S&T testing and evaluation of Machine Learning Algorithms in the detection domain
