Co-founded two Ukrainian highly profitable agriculture production companies (Atlantic Farms I & II) that managed 25,000 acres and applied modern US production and management methods, while adapting to Ukrainian land and climate factors. Yields and profitability, on a per acre/hectare basis, among the highest in Ukraine. Many of Atlantic Farms modern US methods, land stewardship and improvement practices, as well as social funds created for landholders have become standard Ukrainian agricultural practices over the past two decades.

Early after Ukraine independence, the Sweere family created a very successful Ukrainian commodity procurement and trading company. But, the founders had a greater vision for Ukraine: to utilize Ukraine's unique geographic position, high quality soil and unique climate and to help make Ukraine protein self sufficient within 10 years. KAU provided the first market in Ukraine for soybeans and KAU was a significant part of Ukraine becoming protein self sufficient. With it's trading profits and development grants from USAID, the company (KAU) obtained financing from the EBRD to build and to own an Integrated Ag Processing Center that included Ukraine's first privately held grain elevator, soybean processing plant and Ukraine's most modern feed mill. KAU constructed this commercial Ag Center itself over three years. During the construction phase which began in 1995, I was hired as the VP of Trading, Sales and Marketing and it was my department that was responsible to earn and contribute another $5.5 million to the construction budget of this modern Ag Center. We were successful in earning that income in a major construction project that came in under budget. In 1999, KAU was merged with Atlantic Farms I & II, to create Atlantic Agi Holdings Ltd. and I then become the VP of Operations. In reality, I worked for the same company for 23 years.

While maintaining existing farmer dealers and sales, I also worked to modernize the sales structure to recruit and partner with modern ag service companies, such as national companies like Crop Production Services (CPS) and other smaller local companies, to sell and distribute Ciba Seeds to their customers. I trained dozens of service center employees how to offer solutions to their clients. I was able to increase soybean sales by 300% in my territory in 2 years.
